Character Description:

"British, uptight, shy around women" was part of the original character breakdown for the role of Malcolm Reed. During the 4 years we saw many facets of the character develop yet somehow those three were still in there.

Malcolm follows in the line of Navy Men going back generations, until he decided the ocean wasn't big enough for him and decided to join Starfleet, as the excitement of adventure was very enticing to a young man out of school.

Proving himself an excellent Ordinance Officer (just like his great Uncle), Malcolm was picked to be Armoury Officer, Tactical Officer, Security Officer (take your pick of title) on Earth's first warp 5 ship under Captain Jonathan Archer.

Space would almost seem a strange choice for Malcolm. Riddled with various allergies, he's also prone to motion sickness and has a level of aquaphobia. On top of that he's shy with women!

Malcolm's past also came back to haunt him during the course of the show as we discover he has ties to Section 31, a shady section of Starfleet who can bend rules in certain circumstances. But Malcolm has consigned that time to his past as much as possible. These days he is loyal to only one man, Captain Archer, his commanding officer.

Show Description:
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE is/was the fifth series of the STAR TREK franchise. Unlike other recent Trek shows it only lasted for 4 seasons (98 episodes).

Set before Captain Kirk and his NCC-1701 Enterprise, and 100 years after First Contact with the Vulcans, ENTERPRISE charts the adventures of Captain Jonathan Archer and his crew of the NX-01 Enterprise, launching in the year 2151.

This ship is the first warp 5 capable ship and is humankind's first real foray into space without the help of the Vulcans.
